I thought I'd write a brief "Christmas Tale" relating to The Foundry Photojournalism Workshop.
During The Foundry Photojournalism Workshop in Sarajevo a couple of months ago, Maggie Steber and Adriana Zehbrauskas colluded together to bring about a brilliant demonstration of thanks and gratitude to the founder of the workshop, Eric Beecroft, from all the instructors who participate in it.
The idea was a simple but a very meaningful one; each photojournalist/photographer would provide a signed copy of their own favorite/most recent print to Maggie, who would forward them to Eric as a token of recognition and appreciation for his unwavering commitment to the cause of photojournalism and photography, and as a symbol of their friendship....and naturally, for tirelessly setting up the annual workshop since 2008.
The delivery of the prints was perfectly timed by Maggie to arrive at Eric's home on December 24th...just in time for Christmas!
I've just received (as have all the remaining Foundry instructors who donated prints) the above picture showing a beaming Eric Beecroft with the packaged prints.
Well deserved Eric!
And yes...next July in Guatemala!
