IRAN PROTESTS 2022 | Washington Square Park


Through Twitter, I learned of a rally held in Washington Square Park in solidarity with protestors in Iran, so I packed my two Fuji "rangefinders" fitted with the XP16mm and XP18mm and attended the event for a couple of hours.


I reckoned the attendance was in the low hundreds; perhaps evenly split between men and women, while many carried photos of Mahsa Amini and urged others to say her name out loud. The 22-year-old died after being arrested by the Guidance Patrol for wearing an "improper" hijab while visiting Tehran.
